Scope
This Right of Withdrawal applies to consumers whose habitual residence is within the European Union and who purchase physical goods from Madame & Son through our online store.
This section describes the statutory EU/German right of withdrawal for distance contracts.
Customers outside the European Union may have rights under the mandatory consumer protection laws applicable in their country of residence. Nothing in this policy limits any mandatory rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Right of Withdrawal
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The withdrawal period is 14 days from the day on which you, or a third party designated by you who is not the carrier, take possession of the goods.
If you order several goods as part of a single order and the goods are delivered separately, the withdrawal period begins on the day on which you, or a third party designated by you who is not the carrier, take possession of the last item.
If a product is delivered in several separate shipments or pieces, the withdrawal period begins on the day on which you, or a third party designated by you who is not the carrier, take possession of the last shipment or piece.
How to Exercise Your Right of Withdrawal
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your decision to withdraw from the contract by means of a clear statement, for example by email or letter.

You may use the Model Withdrawal Form provided below, but use of the form is not mandatory.
To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right of withdrawal before the 14-day withdrawal period has expired.
Effects of Withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse all payments received from you in connection with the withdrawn goods, including the cost of delivery.
However, if you selected a delivery method that was more expensive than the least expensive standard delivery method offered by us, we are not required to reimburse the additional delivery costs.
We will make the reimbursement without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day on which we receive your notice of withdrawal.
Unless expressly agreed otherwise, reimbursement will be made using the same payment method that you used for the original transaction.
You will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement.
We may withhold reimbursement until we have received the returned goods or until you have provided evidence that you have sent the goods back, whichever occurs first.
Returning the Goods
You must return the goods without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day on which you inform us of your withdrawal.

The return deadline is met if you send the goods before the 14-day return period has expired.
You are responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods.
Please do not return products directly to Printify, BooksCloud, a print provider, production facility, or any other fulfillment partner unless Madame & Son has expressly instructed you to do so.
Loss of Value
You are only responsible for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling that goes beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functioning of the goods.
For example, you may inspect an item in a manner comparable to how you would reasonably inspect it in a physical retail store.
Exceptions to the Right of Withdrawal
The statutory right of withdrawal does not apply where an applicable legal exception exists.
In particular, the right of withdrawal does not apply to contracts for the supply of goods that:
- are not prefabricated and are made according to an individual choice or specification made by the customer; or
- are clearly personalized or tailored to the customer's personal requirements.
This may include, for example, products individually created with a customer's:
- name,
- personal wording,
- photograph,
- individual artwork, or
- other customer-specific personalization.
The exception applies only where the statutory requirements for individually customized or personalized goods are actually met.
Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Goods
The statutory right of withdrawal described above is separate from your rights relating to defective, damaged, misprinted, or incorrectly supplied goods.

Please include your order number and, where reasonably possible, clear photographs showing the issue.
Your statutory warranty and consumer rights remain unaffected.
Return shipping costs arising from a justified claim concerning defective or incorrectly supplied goods are handled separately from the return costs associated with an ordinary withdrawal.
